Ibrahim Malik Abdil-Mu’id Ramey
Muslim Peace Activist
Ibrahim Malik Abdil-Mu’id RameyAn articulate advocate for just US policies at home and abroad, Ibrahim Ramey is the director of the Peace and Disarmament Program at the Fellowship of Reconciliation in Nyack, New York. He has visited Iraq multiple times and co-founded the Campaign of Conscience, a nation-wide faith-based effort to lift the non-military sanctions devastating the people of Iraq. Beginning what would be a life of organizing and activism in 1968, Ramey resigned from ROTC to graduate from the University of Pennsylvania and join in African liberation activities in the US. He started with the National Black Economic Development Conference and then worked for the Pan African Skills Project. In 1993, Ramey embraced the religion of Islam and two years later joined his current position at the Peace and Disarmament program of the Fellowship of Reconciliation. A board member of the Muslim Peace Fellowship and several other peace and justice-related groups, Ramey has spoken and led workshops on social justice and community organizing around the world.

Colin Rowat
Economist, Sanctions Analyst
Colin RowatA lecturer in economics at the University of Birmingham, UK, Colin Rowat is a premier analyst of the effects of sanctions on the economy and people of Iraq. Former coordinator of the Cambridge, England-based Campaign Against Sanctions on Iraq, Colin Rowat has studied the economic and social effects of sanctions in numerous projects through Cambridge University and New York University. He recently provided research and analysis for the Center for Economic and Social Rights Iraq Sanctions Project, for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and in the Applied Economics Department of Cambridge University. A native of Canada, Rowat is currently based in Birmingham, England.
